The process of chemotherapy does not necesarily cure cancer, however it is tool in slowing down the growth of cancer, helping scientists to continuing researching to find a cure. Chemotherapy is a process that many cancer patients have to go through to get rid of, or slow down the growth of the disease. Below is a photo collection of the process of chemotherapy, as well as the many side effects that come along with it.
Chemotherapy is something that not only takes a toll physically, but mentally as well. Below is a poem that portrays the way Haden, and most cancer patients, feel during the times when they have to go through the chemotherapy process.
I am Stronger
Chemo is a bitch.
That basically sums it up.
Months of pain.
Months of suffering,
months of feeling helpless,
all to prevent death.
Organs burn.
As the drug seeps into my vains,
I sit and wait,
wait for what it will bring for me
What will it bring for me?
Success?
That would be life.
Failure?
That would be death
All sounds so simple,
but oh how I wish it was.
I know i have to stay strong,
to become strong again.
It will change me
inside and out
but i will become a better person
I am stronger than a drug
I am stronger than this pain
I am stronger than my doubts
I am strong enough for life
But chemo is a bitch.
